For example, a high protein diet typically includes consuming protein in a larger proportion to other nutrients. A diet plan doesn’t always work for everyone. We have to take into account metabolism and other essential factors. Some people seem to have no problem losing weight, while others always fail even though they’ve tried their best.
What’s the Indian diet all about?
Strong flavors aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. If you like spices on your food, then Indian cuisine will be perfect for you. Indian dishes are known for their rich flavors. There’s no big difference between what Indian people and we eat. All the foods that are included in an Indian diet can be found anywhere. The diet puts more emphasis on fruits, vegetables, and lentils. Meat can still be included, but it’s advised to minimize the consumption if you plan on getting rid of some weight.
Indian diet is plant-based
As said earlier, the diet should consist primarily of plant-based foods. They’re not only good for health, but also lower in calories compared to meat and starchy foods. It’s not to say that you have to skip meat altogether, but watch the portion sizes. Meat is still important due to its high protein content. Indian cuisine offers such strong and rich flavors thanks to the variety of spices used, such as ginger, coriander, turmeric, cumin, etc. Apparently these were not exclusive to Indian cuisine as similar spices are also used vastly in Asian countries and the rest of the world.
What to eat
There are many you can include to the Indian diet plant. The first major component is vegetables. Just go to the grocery store and find whatever veggies you can find. Cauliflower, mustard greens, eggplant, cabbage, they’re all good. Avoid starchy ones like potatoes because they don’t fit this diet program. Fruits of any kind would also be great. Keep in mind that despite all the benefits, fruits still pack a lot of sugar, so be careful with the choices. There are many that you can add to the diet, including apples, oranges, bananas, guava, etc. And then, eat some nuts in between meals. Just like fruit, nuts should be consumed in moderation because they’re generally loaded with calories.
Plan your diet
You can start losing weight by going on an Indian diet for a few days. Since there are many choices, you can include different foods every week. Start with eating one fruit early in the morning and seeds to fill the stomach. It can be peanuts, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, or another. For breakfast, you can eat sandwich or another starchy food. Carbohydrates are still important to start your day as they fuel your metabolism. What’s not recommended is to over-eat high-carb foods because they can quickly cause weight gain.
Protein-rich foods like eggs also make an ideal choice for breakfast. For lunch, you can eat legumes, such as chickpeas and kidney beans. There is need for another course of high-carb meal for lunch, so go for salad, instead. Serve a plate full of vegetables and lentils. You can also add cheese or yogurt to make it taste better. In the evening, you can eat plant-based protein foods and some fruit.
